A Gathering of the Tribes
Peaceful Freedom Assembly July 1st ~ 7th, 2008
This is not the Annual / National Rainbow Gathering for Peace and Healing
All peaceful beings are welcome to come share the gift of harmony and
prayers for world peace as we celebrate interdependence day in unity
without glorification of war. A circle of silent meditation will
commence with the rising sun on the morning of July 4th until noon.
Rippee Access (Missouri) The 2008 (A) Gathering of the Tribes (Ozarks)
will be celebrated at Rippee Access State Forest in South Central
Missouri along the scenic Bryant Creek. This location is just East of
Ava Missouri and situated on the upper foot hills of the Ozarks.
This area is reasonably flat with lots of sweet shade, loving meadows
and has a large clear spring with easy walking access to the creeks
and rivers. Site is very large and people friendly with some shallow
wading pools, recreational waters, trees to play under, caves, hiking
trails and lots of downed oak and hickory for camp fires. We encourage
you to bring water containers & filters, tarps, cooking equipment,
C.A.L.M supplies, and tools to help make this a truly wonderful
experience for the family to enjoy.
Directions: Rippee Access is located eleven miles east of Ava Missouri
off Highway 14, then 1.5 miles south on County Road 328.
As always, please drive cautiously as the local deer population is
successfully on the rise. Portions of the roadway in some areas have
sharp curves and occasionally have steep grades. Be aware that the
State of Missouri actively engages in "Safety Check Points" along most
any County or State roadway. Seat belts must be worn by all passengers
and proof of insurance is often require. Travel Safe and always
maintain your vehicle for best performance and hassle free motoring.
Rippee Access has recently been posted with new rules and guidelines.
Developed camping areas are restricted to 10 people per campsite. It
is recommended that these spots be saved for the handi-family,
special needs and other citizens use. We highly encourage folks to
camp respectfully along the river gravel bars, in the woods, along the
edge of the fields and other ideal places that disappear easily. Help
support the river clean-up efforts, remove any and all trash you find!
Please be aware that there are private properties adjoining the site.
Use respect and do not trespass any boundary markers.
Busses welcomed - No steep grades, solid hard packed gravel with no
overhangs, lots of parking in many areas.
